About this Course
This short course provides you with an opportunity to refresh, upskill or learn more about the value of integrating participation and engagement techniques into the lives of people living with a disability; especially those with an intellectual disability.
The role of the Disability Support worker is a dynamic one. It is more than just providing physical care. The job is about making real connections, and encouraging participation in routine, normal tasks. It's about treating the person with dignity and respect in the acknowledgement that they have needs, interests and preferences that will make their lives more fulfilling.

Welcome to the short course CHCDIS012 Support Community Participation and Social Inclusion otherwise known as our EngageCare program.
In this short course you can achieve two things:
- Participate in online Lessons and assessable Activities focused on the importance of integrated participation and engagement in disability support, and
- On your successful completion of the activities, you will receive a Statement of Attainment in CHCDIS012 Support Community Participation and Social Inclusion.

- 2. Implement strategies for community participation and inclusion according to individualised plan.
